The University offers programs at both the Master and Doctoral Levels in the
English, Korean, and Chinese languages:

  • Master of Science in Acupuncture (English, Korean, Chinese)
  • Master of Science in Oriental Medicine (English, Korean, Chinese)
  • Doctor of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine
  • Doctor of Acupuncture
  • Doctor of Oriental Medicine
  • Certificate in Herbal Medicine

The Virginia University of Integrative Medicine is institutionally accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine (ACAHM), which is the recognized accrediting agency for freestanding institutions and colleges of acupuncture or Integrative medicine that offer such programs. The Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP) has certified the Virginia University of Integrative Medicine to offer international students the opportunity to study in the United States. Through certification, VUIM has proven that it possesses the necessary facilities and instructors to engage in course instruction for international students.

Program-Specific Accreditation Information

The Virginia University of Integrative Medicine, its master’s-level program in Oriental Medicine (MSOM) [in English, Chinese, and Korean], its master’s-level program in Acupuncture (MSA) [in English, Chinese, and Korean], its Professional Doctor-level program, Doctor of Oriental Medicine (DOM) [in English, Chinese, and Korean], its Professional Doctor-level program, Doctor of Acupuncture (DAc.), its advanced practice Doctor of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (DAOM) program and its Certificate in Herbal Medicine (CHM) are accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (ACAHM). Accreditation status and notes may be viewed on the ACAHM Directory.
ACAHM is recognized by the United States Department of Education as the specialized accreditation agency for institutions/programs preparing
