Every year in November, Ivy College transforms its campus into a vibrant tapestry of flavors, aromas, and traditions during the much-anticipated Thanksgiving Potluck. What began as a small community gathering has grown into one of the most cherished events of the year, bringing together students, faculty, and staff for an afternoon of food, friendship, and cultural exchange.
While Thanksgiving is traditionally associated with turkey, stuffing, and pumpkin pie, the Ivy Potluck reimagines the holiday with a global twist. Students proudly present homemade dishes from their home countries, from savory empanadas and fragrant curries to sweet baklava and festive rice dishes.
The event not only fills the tables with food but also fills the campus with warmth and camaraderie. It’s an opportunity for the Ivy community to learn about each other’s cultures, share family recipes, and build connections beyond the classroom.
More than just a meal, the potluck embodies the spirit of Thanksgiving, gratitude. Students and faculty take the time to reflect on what they’re thankful for, often writing messages on the “Thankful Wall” or sharing stories during the meal.
This year’s potluck promises to be even more special, with live music from student performers, a dessert contest, and a photo booth to capture the memories. It’s a reminder that at Ivy College, Thanksgiving is not just about the food we share, but the community we build together.
